State Street Bank & Trust Co. v. Signature Financial Group, Inc., 139 F.3d 1368 (Fed. Cir. 1998).
Court rejected the "business methods" exception to patentability that other courts had applied. Case is widely credited with opening door to internet business method patents.

AT&T Corp. v. Excel Communications Inc., 172 F.3d 1352 (Fed. Cir. 1999).
Case reaffirmed State Street's rejection of busines method patentability exception.

Amazon.com, Inc., v. Barnesandnoble.com, Inc., No. C99-1695P (W.D. WA 1999).
Court held Amazon's patent on it's "one click" shopping cart likely to be valid, and enjoined Barnes & Noble from using a similar cart.
